Our hot and arid El Dorado Hills summer climate means temperatures that can damage plastics, leather, photos, documents, wooden furniture, and other household and business belongings.
GoldKey's climate-controlled facility remains in a temperature-controlled range that protects your stuff from heat damage.
Facility Layout
GoldKey's indoor storage facility has ground-level units and second-floor spaces. The building has automated double-wide doors at all four corners for easy, safe & secure access to your unit. There is convenient parking outside the building entrances.
Getting your things to a second-floor space is fast and easy. First, load your items onto one of our provided platform carts. Then, wheel the cart into one of the building's four elevators and go up and over to your storage unit.
Storage Unit Dimensions
Self-storage units on both levels include 5 x 5, 5 x 10, 10 x 10, 10 x 15, and 10 x 20. The largest size units, 14 x 20, are only on the ground level. For 10 x 10 and larger units, there is free, one-day usage of our moving truck.
Second-floor storage units cost less than ground-floor units. For example, the monthly price for a second-floor 5 x 5 space is $39. A ground-level 5 x 5 unit costs $59 per month.

Outdoor Boat, RV, and Vehicle Storage
Available parking spaces outside our building can accommodate various vehicles and trailers. The sizes of the parking spaces are 9 x 20 and 9 x 35.
Underground Wine Storage
If you want to protect your wine collection from the heat of El Dorado Hills summers, check out our wine storage facility. The facility is temperature-controlled and humidity-controlled.
Branded GoldKey Cellars, this is a place to store your wine in individual lockers. Next to the wine storage area is the GoldKey Barrel Room, which is available to rent for meetings.
GoldKey Mail Center
GoldKey's Mail Center mailboxes are an alternative to USPS PO boxes.
It's a place to receive all your mail and packages. You can access your mailbox at any time. We'll hold your packages in our mailroom until you come to pick them up.
Indoor Boat, RV, and Car Storage
The GoldKey Boathouse building is located a quarter mile down the street from the GoldKey Storage building.
Housed in the boathouse building, "GoldKey Marine" is the brand for our indoor boat storage and service. Many customers also store their cars, RVs, and trailers with GoldKey Marine.
GoldKey offers boat transport to and from Lake Tahoe, Folsom Lake, and other boating areas for customers who do not own a boat trailer.
The boathouse also has an inventory of used boats.

What is your largest indoor self-storage unit?
The largest overall unit is 14x20. Please go to our Available Units page to find out what the largest currently available unit is.
Do you have outdoor drive-up units?
We do not have drive-up units, since all storage units are inside our climate-controlled facility. But you can drive up to the building's double-wide doors.
What’s your billing cycle, the anniversary of move-in, or the 1st of each month?
Our billing cycle is on the 1st of each month, regardless of what day of the month you moved in.
Is insurance required for my stored possessions?
Yes - we require homeowners or renters insurance. Please first confirm with your insurance company or agent that the items in your storage unit are covered by your policy. Alternatively, we can provide you with tenant insurance. Pricing starts at $9.00 per month.
